The placeholder parents were removed and the debunked Carrington ancestry has crept back in--is there a way to prevent this from happening again?

Here are the placeholder parents:

unknown Smith, in county Essex

Olga Tomchin you removed the placeholders? You will see the reason they were there - there is a fraudulent pedigree in circulation, and at the time we carefully debunked it, NN parents were the only alternative to a fully locked Geni profile.

Amy Nordahl Cote we now have relationship locking so when I retrieve and re attach the kids, I’ll use that curator tool.

Thank you for calling attention and best wishes for a happy new year.

Private User the entire tree from Sir Thomas Carrington, {Fictional} up is bogus, it was disproved / busted as a fabricated pedigree in 1911. You may wish to delete your profiles.

Here is the Master Profile for Poppa of Bayeux

There is never a need to enter these medieval notables into Geni, they already exist in the world family tree, and when your tree “hooks on” to that world tree you will automatically be connected to them.
