Hello everyone, I am trying to solve a family mystery. My father's family ("Salama") are Jews from Syria (Damascus). They used another surname "ibn Huedae" so the full surname was "Salama ibn Huedae." There are many other Salama family members around the world who are familiar with this second surname "ibn Huedae" but nobody can agree upon its meaning (most likely seems to be "son of Jews" which would distinguish the Salama Jews from Salama Christians and Muslims, since it is a common last name). I am wondering if anyone here is familiar with it, and could perhaps provide an explanation. Thanks so much. -JordanSalama
