The will of Thomas Buckner, D.D., is extant and it doesn't mention any children or a wife (TNA PROB 11/192/367, see http://www.buckbd.com/genea/tbuckner1644will.html). He left most of his estate to friends and relatives. There's really no reason to think that he was anyone's father, much less John Buckner's.
