I wonder why Colonel John and Alice seemed to have not married until several years after they'd had at least two kids? I suppose we can't know the answer. Yet, also, as Alice didn't die until 1698, it seems odd that records on this site state he married Fanny in 1689, which could mean one or more dates are wrong. If, indeed, John married Fanny before Alice passed away, perhaps John and Alice had divorced or, if not, then it appears John was married to more than one woman at the same time. Hmm?
