If his mother died in 1747, how could he be born to her in 1756????

now that WOULD be impossible. honestly i have not really been on genealogy for well over a year. honestly i have planned to drop some memberships but haven't yet for this reason - the information that come in new. if you find a documented mistake, please correct if you are able and if not let me know and i will correct on my site. many times there are multiple dates - but if you have found the grave stones, etc THIS is typically accurate. so the question - do you feel the connection is incorrect of the date.

ty for the correction. with so many similar names and families, it MUST BE ACCURATE TY
fyi i am a pace, floyd, ford, godbold from marion county, sc since 1600's. any connection?

Phillip Levin Strickland was born in 1756 to William Abner Strickland and Martha Brown. He married Catherine Lofton. He likewise had a son named Philip Levin Strickland who married Penelope Faulk.

I've disconnected this Phillip from the incorrect parents ... if someone finds the correct parents, we can get him re-attached there ... (going looking ...)

Found them ... Phillip is attached to William Abner & Martha Brown(e).

Dan Cornett... Yes he belongs to William Abner and Martha Brown. In total he and Catherine had 9 children.

Their children were as follows:
Matthew Strickland 1785-1847
Philip Levin Jr. 1790-1850 m. Penelope Faulk 1810-?
Cain Jasper 1793-1885 m. Mary Swilley 1821-1885
John B 1795-1880
Elizabeth 1800-1859
Noah 1802-1870 m. Rebecca Cribb 1812-?
Elias 1804-1858 m. Synthia Starling 1810-1872
Lucy 1812-1880 m. Travis Coleman 1806-?
Catherine "Katie" 1820-1880 m/ Patrick Perry Lowery 1820-1892

Also.. I dont know if it matters all that much.. but he was born at the base of Tar River, in Edgecombe County. He was married 1781 in Bladen NC and Catherine's full name was Meghan Catherine Lofton. I believe the "Stephen Strickland" in question is actually the son of Aaron Strickland 1767-1821 and Fairiby Overstreet 1768-1862. Stephen married Rachel Shaw 1799-1818 (she died giving birth to Stephen Smith Strickland 1818-1901)

Also... Philip Levin SHOULD be my 7th Great Grand Uncle... I dont know how that all changed but William Abner Strickland and Martha Browne are my 8th Greats.
