First of all, lets call this one Mary Duvall, and notice her husband has another very similar wife which may be a duplicate:
https://www.geni.com/people/Mary-Nancy-Pryor-Dance/6000000102724148...
This potential duplicate (lets call her Mary Dance) spouse has a daughter that squarely overlaps deep inside the range of children of Mary Duval . . . very suspicious.
Another related problem: If you go to the ancestry.com search page for one of the children, you find something very interesting (I used a URL shortener, as otherwise, the URL is insanely long)):
tinyurl.com/bp9h9p8f
Click on the "View all" link on the right side of the first hit "Thornton Pryor" to expand the 605 trees. What is interesting is that, although in SOME cases the mother *is* listed with the surname "Dance" very often, she is listed as Logsdon or Longdon as well, and Thornton has as a wife a Mary Nance.
I suspect the Thornton's mother may be getting confused with his wife . . .
My theory is that maybe the tree SHOULD look like:
Joseph Pryor=Mary Logsdon/Longdon/Whatever
!
Thornton Mary
Pryor = Dance/Nance/Vance/Whatever
I have no proof, but I wanted to show you the bones of the issue so it could at least be presented . . . once the dead rat starts to smell, people can start to look for it . . . you know?
Anyhow, recapping, I wanted to suggest there was a potential duplicate merger to be considered, AND I wanted to propose the possibility that surnames may have been generationally transposed.
Sincerely,
Gary Paul Stutler
