Could this Johan Ojala be the same as this man?

The location and age and fathers name seem to match.

I think it could be the same man. This Johan Henrik you found went to "Amerika" maybe 1882 and in his communion book 1884-1895 it says "Sanotaan kuolleen Amerikassa". Meaning the parish has received some kind of information about his death.

Hannu Olavi Heino I could use your input on the two Johan Ojalas. What do you think They are the same or not? Can you help me find some ecidence?

I just found this discussion. Just informing, that I'm trying to find out more information about several Johan Ojalas from Kuusamo. Mother's name is different, in at least the one, whose profile I've made, but it could have changed in speech (she lived and died in Kuusamo, Finland).

So, Anna Ekmans 2nd husband could possibly be Michel Manley, the son of Hiskias Manni (Hattu?) (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/GSGB-RVL) ... Michels brother Jacob marries Anna Maria Ojala, (familysearch https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/M4GM-CNP) she is the daughter of Daniel Ojala from Kuusamo, Daniel has a son named Jacob who came in the United States.

Anna Ekmans father Henry immigrated ca. 1901.

And yes, I found yesterday this Jacob (Jaakko) in Kuusamo books and he was either brother or halfbrother (don't remember now exactly, will check later). And I suppose John (Johan) had been workin couple of years in Daniel Määttäs / Ojalas farm..So this connects them also stronger to that family, where Anna Maria, Jacobs wife comes.

Feels we are getting very close with this one 👏🏻

I've found John Huhta and Elias Olson and updated the profiles.

Henrik Peterson Tuovinen and Aleksanteri Stenbacka died in the Huron mine, in Houghton, November 26,1889. Henriks age is 22 and Alex's is 24.

Hi, I tried to search more information on weekend about this Johan Ojala. There were other problems with geni (both technical and in my closer familytree) so those took my time, and couldn't (yet) find more.
This Johan Ojala seems to be something like 5th or 6th cousin of mine, so I am interested in searching more.
Tuovinen is also familiar name in the Kuusamo - Kemijärvi area. So I'll go on, but bacause of work, propably mostly on weekends.

I've searched every now and then some fact, that would make it sure, that those two Johan Henrik Ojala are the same person, but unfortunately haven't found - yet.

About Johan Henrik Ojala. I asked some help from other researchers from Kuusamo area. When checking the exact details in records, one can find out, that Johan Henrik has been in Kuusamo, Finland at least both in 26.12.1886 and 23.06.1888. If he were the same, who died in that mineaccident, he would have been travelling many times from Finland to America and back. He already has left the first time to America in 1882, but as noticed has come back.

How likely would that have been possible. This has not been any wealthy family, basic farmers or so. And anyway we have that different name of the mother.

We'll have to keep on searching. I have checked some Johan Henrik -named child about the same age from Kuusamo, but not all of them yet. Just going to dig deeper...

If I get any more information, I'll tell you.
