Obituary.
YES, gone — but not for ever,
Oh, sweet consoling thought ;
It calms our fears and troubles,
Though mourning, yet rejoicing,
We on Thy word rely,
We feel that we'll again meet
In our home on high.
WE sincerely regret having to record the
death of Mrs. Morris, wife of Mr. Michael
Morris, Woodlands, which event took place
yesterday. Last Wednesday week, the de-
ceased lady caught a very severe cold,
causing her retirement to bed. During the
time intervening she suffered greatly, but
passed away peacefully at 11 o'clock yester-
day in the presence of friends and members
of her family. Mrs. Morris reached the
ripe age of 78, was a native of Sydney, and
came to the district many years ago when
it was but a lonely wilderness inhabited
principally by Australian natives. She has
resided with her husband in the vicinity
almost ever since, and her kind-heartedness
and devotedness earned the respect and
esteem of a very large circle of friends ; be-
sides being a loving mother and faithful
wife. Mrs. Morris has a family of three
sons and two daughters living, besides
numerous grand-children and great grand-
children. We desire to express our sym-
pathy with the bereaved family. The
funeral will take place to-morrow (Sunday)
afternoon.
