Ol' Grampa Abe here is listed as having two different sets of parents -- not too surprising, of course, except that one of his alleged fathers (John Harrington, of Watertown) was apparently keeping a diary in England in the 1640s and 1650s after drowning in Boston Harbor in 1630. As you dig around this line, there are a ton of issues like that that keep popping up.

While it's a pleasure to half-know that I descend from a man capable of bouncing back from such seemingly unconquerable circumstances, I'm wondering if we have anyone kicking around with better knowledge of the Harringtons than what the Internet has to offer? Google seems to just make it all worse...

So, who knows about the Harringtons? Where do we want to start digging in?

Journaling from the depths of the Boston Harbor eh? Skilled!

That defies the common sense test but many people wouldn't have noticed...

Harrington is familiar but I have not researched them. I start with Google Books unless I know that there's a source such as Plantagenet Ancestry, The Peerage, Medlands, NEGHS where the family is likely to be researched and documented.
