About Abiah Birdsey-Tryon (Hunnewell)
From The Tryon Family in America:
We find her first name spelled Abiall, Abial, and Biall. She was born in Middletown in 1683, and was a daughter of Elizabeth (Harris) Hunnewell, and granddaughter of Capt. Daniel Harris and his wife Mary (Welds) Harris. The name of Abiah's father was Birdsey. Her mother, after the death of her first husband, married John Hunnewell, and evidently Abiah adopted his name.
1. Mention in Will, Inv. or Prob.; 13 Mar 1698/99; Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT 15. Received legacy of 43 acres of land in the will of her grandfather, Capt. Daniel Harris. Named as Abiell, daughter of Daniel's daughter Elizabeth. Daniel committed her into the care and custody of her uncle John Harris until she attained the age of 18 or married.
