About Abigail Peck

Some discrepancies in dates of marriage. Assume that date was Jan 14, 1707 and that their first child was Joseph, born Oct 2, 1707. That would mean that Abigail was born earlier than 1694, probably more like 1690.

I don't know why the age difference. In most cases that would indicate that it was a second marriage since most of these marriages from this era were between a young man and a young woman in their late teens. We should check the Peck Generations to verify.

Joseph Peck, her husband was born Feb. 25, 1680 (Milford vital records). His will was dated Oct 31, 1739 and proved Dec. 5, 1739. They married on Jan. 14, 1796/7 in Newtown, CT (from MVR). They removed from Milford to Newtown, CT.

Abigail born ca 1694 married Jan 14 1706/7 (MVR) Joseph Peck b Feb 25 1680 (MVR) ... Removed to Newtown by 1714

Both paragraphs above are from Families of Early Milford. Clearly the wedding date was Jan. 14 1706/7 based on the children:

  1. Joseph b. Oct 2 1707
  2. Abigail dy
  3. John
  4. Mary dy
  5. Moses
  6. Mary born Newtown May 18 1726
