Extract from the book "On Gunnary Creek", 150 years of the Gorham Family in Australia, 1838-1988, published in 1988. The author was Des Gorham.

"Abraham was the third son of James and Jane Amelia (Gorham). He and his twin sister Amelia were born at Gunnary Creek on April 8th, 1851. As a young man Abraham occupied land that had been selected by his parents in the Kennys Creek area during the 1860s and 1870s. Between 1870 and the end of the century, Abraham acquired an extensive area of land by further outright purchases and by conditional purchases and conditional leases, all of which brought his total holdings to about 2500 acres of potentially good pastoral land. By 1897 he was carrying 1700 sheep and 90 head of cattle.

When he was 25 Abraham chose as his bride Ellen Mewburn, the younger sister of Elizabeth to whom Henry Gorham was married. At the time of their marriage in June 1876, Ellen was 22, but had already given birth to two daughters: Lena (or Aleina), born in 1875, and Landaline (or Gwendoline) Florence, born in April 1876. It is assumed (but without certainity) that Abraham was the father of these children
