Achilles was a Patriot during the American Revolution and furnished supplies to the Patriots. Achilles and his son, Andrew, are eligible ancestors for the Daughters Of the American Revolution. Several of his sons served with distinction in the Revolution. Two of his sons migrated to Kentucky and received free land for their military service.

ELIZABETH2 ADAMS (ROBERT1) was born October 29, 1713 in Louisa Co., VA, and died October 27, 1793. She married ACHILLES MOORMAN February 22, 1736/37. He was born October 26, 1713, and died December 01, 1783 in Campbell Co., VA.

Biography
Achilles was born in 1713 in New Kent, Virginia. He was the son of Charles Moorman and Elizabeth Reynolds. He married Elizabeth Adams. They were Quakers who regularly attended the Camp Spring Meeting but came often to worship at Clarksville.
They had the following children:
Charles Moorman - born in 1737 in , Louisa Co., VA; died in 1798. a private in the Revolutionary War and later a Major, he married Mary Venable daughter of Abraham Venable and Martha Davis. Mary was born on 22 May 1739 in Louisa County, VA. She died on 10 Mar 1807 in Breckenridge, Kentucky.
Silas Moorman - born in 1740 in Louisa Co., VA; died in 1777. He married Sally Moon who remarried Michael Gilbert.
Andrew Moorman - born 02 Dec 1744 in Campbell Co., VA and was a Revolutionary Patriot who furnished supplies. . He married his first cousin, Judith Clark, daughter of Micajah Clark and Judith (Adams) about 1770/1771 in Virginia. Judith was born on 13 Feb 1749 in Albemarle Co., VA and died in 1794. Andrew died 10 Mar 1791.
William Moorman - born in Louisa Co., VA. He married (1) Jane Haden; (2) Judith Venable; (3) Elizabeth (Haden) Miller.
James Moorman - born in 1748 in Campbell Co., VA
Jesse Moorman - born in Louisa Co., VA. He married Elizabeth Buckner-Stith on 14 Jan 1785.
Mary Moorman - born in 1750 in Campbell Co., VA; married Matthew or Andrew Allegre.
Judith Moorman - born in 1752 in Campbell Co., VA; married William M. Haden.
Robert Jesse Moorman - born 15 Dec 1753 in Campbell Co., VA; died in Jul 1843.
Jesse Adams Moorman - born 15 Dec 1759 in Campbell Co., VA; died 9 Jul 1843 in Brandenburg, Meade, Kentucky; married Elizabeth Buckner Stith daughter of Richard Stith Jr and Lucy Cocke Hall.
Mary Moorman - born in 1763 in Campbell Co., VA.
