About Agatha Georgiana Street
Agatha was baptised on 7 June 1817 at the church of St Stephen, Walbrook, in the City of London, when she was just over a year old. The baptism record (see sources) provides her birth date, 19 May 1816, and her parents' names. The family lived at nearby Bucklersbury and her father's occupation is listed as stationer. The baptism was performed by G. Street. Although the record doesn't state where she was born, it is reasonable to assume it was in Bucklersbury, as her two older brothers, William Warren and George Charles, were baptised two years earlier at the same church, with the same residence and occupation for their father.
The family emigrated to Canada in 1832 when she was about 17 and it was there that she met her husband, Mark Young Stark, who was more than 15 years older than her and had been born in Scotland.
Her husband Mark died in January,1866. In September 1872, aged 56, she married (see sources) a Scottish-born merchant, James Campbell, who had also been widowed, in Ontario. Her son Robert was a witness. The couple were both described as Presbyterian. James predeceased her in 1890.
When her son Mark visited from England in 1896, she and her daughters presented him with an autograph book made from bark, which they had signed (see sources). This shows that she was living at the same address as daughter Mary: 87 Hayden Street, Toronto. And it confirms her name as Agatha Georgiana Campbell.
