Notes
Member of the 1717 or Second Germanna Colony (child) The following information is from the Clore-Glore Genealogy manuscript by Delma Rae Carpenter, Sr. (1881-1967). A copy of this is available at the Madison Co., VA Library. This manuscript is a typescript and update of another, handwritten, Clore-Glore Genealogy manuscript by Dr. Arthur Leslie Keith. The original of Keith's manuscript is at the Newberry Library, Chicago., IL. Please note that some of this information has been updated by other researchers in the meantime and I'll try to add notes with the current information. Pages 16-17: Agnes Margaret Clore (daugher of Michael Clore) married Michael Oneal prior to May 19, 1735, who is probably identical with the one mentioned in the patent of Michael Clore, September 28, 1728. Apparently Michael Clore in his will directs that no portion of the heritage of Agnes Margaret shall come into the hands of Michael O'Neal. We have already noted deed of John Clore to Michael Oneal, April 13, 1764, for 48 acres. This land Margaret Oneal, "Relect of Michael Oneal", and William Oneal, son and heir of the said Michael Oneal Decd, sold to James Crane, October 19, 1767. On April 9, 1763 Margaret Oneal, wife of Michael Oneal, relinquished her right of dower in a tract of 100 acres (evidently the deed of April 8, 1743 by Michael Oneal in which she failed to sign). This land is described as part of a larger tract for 698 acres granted to Michael Clore, etc. Michael Oneal signs this relinquishment, Margaret (not Agnes Margaret) Oneal makes her mark, and Michael Leatherer and Paul Leatherer witness. On September 15, 1763, Peter Oneal, infant, by Michael Oneal, next friend, brings suit against Michael Leatherer. Outcome not shown. Between this date and October 10 [sic], 1767 Michael Oneal died. This latter date is the last mention found of Agnes Margaret.
