27 November 1826: Leitch et al. against Smith & Lang. Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Mrs. Christian Leitch and Mary Leitch, Sisters of the late John Leitch Esquire, Merchant in Glasgow, and of William Shortridge, Husband of the said Mrs. Mary Leitch, and Agnes Trokes, Spouse of Archibald Hamilton, Merchant in Glasgow, and her Husband for his Interest, and Mrs. Jean Trokes, spouse of Peter M'Adam of Easterhouse, and her Husband for his Interest; complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the Second Division, of the 2d of June 1826; and praying, "That the same may be reversed, varied or altered, or that the Appellants may have such Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships Great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that William Smith Esquire, Merchant in Glasgow, and James Lang, Writer to the Signet, surviving accepting Trustees of the deceased Andrew Leitch, late Captain on the Half Pay of His Majesty's 60th Regiiment of Foot, may be required to answer te said Appeal:" It is ordered, That the said William Smith and James Lang may have a copy of the said Appeal, and do put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on or before Monday the 25th Day of December next; and Service of thos Order upon the said Respondents, or upon any one of their known Agents in the Court of Session in Scotland, shall be deemed good Service.
