Alice Maria Wilder

Alice Maria Wilder, dau. of James Wilder and Angelina Albina Day, was born Sept. 3, 1853 in Franklin Co., New York. She married with ALBERT A. BALDWIN, son of Caroline Baldwin. He was born Apr. 20, 1848 in Pennsylvania. She died Feb. 22, 1892 in Georgiana, Brevard Co., Florida; he died Mar. 24, 1905. Both buried at Crooked Mile Cemetery, Merritt Island, Brevard Co., Florida.

Children were: Myrtle (9/1880), and Leland Edward (12/28/1885).

Leland's mother, Alice Maria Wilder Baldwin, passed away in 1892 when they lived in Florida leaving his father with two children. About a year later, his father, Albert, married Ellen A McCarty. Two more children were born, Nina Anna in 1895 and Mary, (Birth Unk.) Leland's father died in Florida in 1905. By 1912, Leland, his step-mother Ellen and his half sister Nina Anna were living at 902 S. 1st Ave. in Phoneix Arizona. The next year, Leland died at 30 years old. Nina passed away in 1925 in Phoenix from Tuberculosis, never marrying.

Leland is the nephew of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of "The Little House on the Prairie" series.

• 1885 census: Alice M. (35, b NY) and husband Albert A. (37, b Pa); in fairview, Lyon Co., Minnesota w ch Myrtle E. (5, b Mn) and Edward A. (5m, b Mn).
