I was married twice, first to Francoise Bourg on Nov 10, 1705. We had 9 children together and Francoise died 3 weeks (Dec 15, 1715)after our last child, Elizabeth (Isabelle), was born (Nov 22, 1715). Four years later (Jan 23, 1719) I married Marguerite Comeau and we had 13 children together. Amand was our 12th child of the 13. With both wives I fathered 22 children. My first 2 children were twins, they both died the day they were born (Dec 29, 1706) in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. Of my living children, I had 3 sons and 4 daughters with Francoise Bourg and 9 daughters and 4 sons with Marguerite Comeau.

12th of 21 children -. Ambroise Melanson: (twin to Pierre, below) b. abt 1685 (SW), Port Royal, Acadia; d. abt 1757, Quebec City, Canada.

(Note: during the Deportation of 1755, Ambroise was aboard a transport ship, the Pembroke, which was bound for North Carolina. A revolt onboard the ship, led by Charles Belliveau, of the Acadian men against their English captors succeeded and the ship was turned around and sailed up the St. John River where the Acadians disembarked. Some of the Acadians travelled on foot to Quebec where Ambroise died during a small pox epidemic that hit the area 2 years later, claiming the lives of many of the Acadians who had escaped the Deportations.)

Married: Nov. 10, 1705, Port Royal (Rg), Acadia, to Françoise Bourg: (Bernard & Françoise Brun) b. abt 1680, Port Royal, Acadia; B. Nov. 22, 1715, Port Royal (Rg), Nova Scotia.

(Note: recorded as being "about thirty-five years old" at death and was recorded as deceased on daughter Marguerite's baptismal certificate.)

Children: Charles, Anonyme (died young), Joseph, Jean, Ambroise (triplet), Madeleine (triplet), Marie (triplet), Élisabeth (twin) and Marguerite (twin).

Married 2nd: Jan. 23, 1719, Port Royal (Rg), Nova Scotia, to Marguerite Comeau: (Jean & Françoise Hébert) b. abt 1699 (SW), Port Royal, Acadia; d. Aug 29, 1757, Quebec City (SW), Quebec.

(Note: during the Deportation of 1755, Marguerite was aboard a transport ship, the Pembroke, which was bound for North Carolina. A revolt onboard the ship, led by Charles Belliveau, of the Acadian men against their English captors succeeded and the ship was turned around and sailed up the St. John River where the Acadians disembarked.
