In the Brewer YDNA Project Group Howell Cobb and his father Ambrose Brewer b1753 VA test out as R-Y53883 as well as Oliver b1817 Claiborne Co., TN. This dna group comes from Celtic origins, rather than Scandinavian/Normandy origins from where these lines of Brewers descend (from William de Briouze, Normandy arrived England 1066). This possibly makes Ambrose and Howell Cobb's line a result of a cuckholding where the Brewer husband accepts the child as his own, or by adoption, or from a different Brewer line entirely.
