He was a farmer and wool-grower; made ensign, 1st company, 8th reg't, Nov. 29, 1802; 1st lieut., 1st company, 8th militia, April 25, 1805 (Ms. State Papers, Hartford) . Represented his town in the state legislature in 1800, 1801, 1802, 1822, 1827, 1829.
