William Avery

Family notes indicate that William Avery constructed the home, inherited by Fernando W. Bentley, about 1790. FWB inherited the house in 1946 from his aunt, Edna Hewitt Tryon. When he sold it to George Jackson in 1967, Attorney Birdsey Palmer, who performed the title search determined that the house had never been previously sold and had been passed from generation to generation since it's orgin.

November 29, 1792 in Preston, New London, Connecticut, daughter of JONAS AVERY and MARY AVERY. She was born February 27, 1775 in Groton, New London, Connecticut, and died May 22, 1805 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut.
