Amos Burrows was born 6 August 1714 in Groton, New London, Connecticut and died 1 June 1773 in Groton, New London, Connecticut.
Parents: John Burrows (1671-1752) & Lydia Hubbard (1675-1752)
Married: about 1737 to Elizabeth Rathbone (1720-1808).
Their children were: seven boys and three girls - Rev. Amos Burrows, Rev. Silas Burrows who was founder of the Second Baptist Church at Fort Hill, Groton, ordained about 1765 and served that church for 53 years as pastor; Elisha, Paul, Nathan and Joseph served in the Revolutionary War;,Joshua, Elizabeth, Anna and Eunice.
Notes
They lived at Fort Hill, Groton, Connecticut, throughout their lives. He had been brought up a strict Congregationalist but became a "Separatist". He served as an unordained preacher, member of the (New Light) Separate Congregational Church at Pequonoc-Groton.
