Biography

From findagrave.com: "Amey was the daughter of Samuel Winter and Elizabeth Philbrick of Groton, Mass. and Killingly, Connecticut, and was baptized on 27 November 1715 [1] She was married in Killingly on 1 Jan 1735 to John Church, Jr., the son of John Church and Elizabeth Evans. John Church was a cordwainer (shoemaker). His Bible record says that Amey died aged "104 years save 11 days", but this would put her birth year in 1711, two years before her parents' marriage, and four years before her baptismal date. It is, therefore, assumed to be an exaggerated age, which is not uncommon for centenarians.

John and Amey had eleven children, all born in Killingly, CT from 1737 to 1758. In 1763 the family moved to Mansfield, CT, and then in 1772 they moved to Shutesbury, Mass. Following the Revolutionary War, the family moved to Vershire, Vermont.

It is not certain if Amey has a tombstone or not. Her death date comes from her husband's Bible." Find A Grave Memorial created by Stan Arnold, August 21, 2015.
