About Anastasia Ivanovna

Not the daughter of Ioann Korotopol, prince of Pronsk & Ryazan

Anastasia Ivanovna Ryazanskaya (born no later than 1353 - died not earlier than 1371) - daughter of Ryazan Prince Ivan Alexandrovich (+1351), the only known sister of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich of Ryazan.

Biography

Russian Wikipedia (Google translation, 23 December 2022)

Origins

The Sovereign Pedigree states that the father of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich was Prince Ivan Ivanovich Korotopol, and on this basis he was considered the father of Anastasia and Oleg for a long time. This incorrect information is sometimes put in a number of genealogical publications. However, back in the 1850s, historian D.I. Ilovaiski proved that in fact their father is Prince Ivan Alexandrovich of Ryazan[1], and all university publications about the genealogy of Rurikovich (for example, "Rurikovich: History and Genealogy" by historian E.V. Pchelov) today agree with this.

This option is all the more plausible because in the first option, if she was the daughter of Ivan Korotopol (died in 1343) - then in the year of her marriage (1371) Anastasia was at least 28 years old, which for those times there is too much for marriage.

D.I. Ilovaisk, working on the charters, drew attention to an interesting detail that Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich himself calls his father not Ivan Ivanovich Korotopol, but Ivan Alexandrovich (+ until June 22, 1353, when for the first time Oleg Ivanovich in the chronicle is called the Grand Duke of Ryazan in childhood)[2]. In the charter of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich, Olga's monastery begins with the words: "By the mercy of God, I am the prayer of my father, Prince Ivan Alexandrovich and the blessing of the Bishop of Ryazan and Murom, Prince Oleg Ivanovich..."

Princes Ivan Ivanovich Korotopol and Ivan Alexandrovich belong to the same Ryazan branch of Rurikovich, were Ryazan and Pron princes and were cousins. The first killed the second, and all the more shocking fact can be considered that the Moscow chroniclers then mistakenly for the father of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich and his sister not his real father, but the murderer of their grandfather.

Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich ascends to the throne at 12/14 years and the years of reign (1353 - 1402) of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich became the years of the highest rise, flourishing and glory of the Grand Duchy of Ryazan-Murom, for all four centuries of its independent existence.

Family

Being married in (1372) (at least 19 years old) by her brother Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich of Ryazan[3], to the Horde murza Salahmir, brought her husband in a dowry: Venev, Rostovets, Verkhderev, Mikhailovo Pole and Bezputsky Stan. Salahmir was baptized with the name of Ivan Miroslavich and became a Ryazan boyar and the closest adviser to his father-in-law.

These references are available in the painting of the Apraksin pedigree: "In the summer of 6879 (1371), in the days of the Grand Duke of Moscow Dmitry Ivanovich Donskoy in the Rezan principality of the Grand Duke Olga Ivanovich Rezansky left the Great Horde for Rezan, the husband is honest in the name Solokhmir Miroslavovich 4].

Based on the historical study of the Archive Manager D.V. Tsvetaev and Academician A.I. Sobolevsk, the oldest document of the Moscow Archives of the Ministry of Justice: "The Charter of Oleg Ryazansky" and published work (1913), research historians claim that this charter to Olga Monastery was started (1371) and finished with the second scribe (1372). In this letter, John Miroslavovich is mentioned by the son-in-law of Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich in the text (1372), which indicates the year of the wedding (1372). This confidence is based on a copy of the historical document: The granted this, preferential and unconvicted diploma of the Ryazan Grand Duke Oleg Ivanovich to the abbot of the Solotchina Monastery Theodore in the village of Fedorkovo in the Ryazan principality, where there is a mention: List from the list of original letters word for word. "Yaz, Grand Duke Olga Ivanovich, talking to his son-in-law with Ivan Miroslavovich, continue the holy Mother of God to Solotsha hegumen Fyodor Fedorkovo village..."[ 5]. Modern criminologists conducted a study (1954) of handwriting of writing this letter and later conducted an examination of handwriting using the latest technology of that time (1963). Both expert opinions confirmed the conclusion of D.V. Tsvetaev and Academician A.I. Sobolevsk. Based on this fact, it can be argued that the rite of baptism of the Murza Salahmir was held (1372) before his wedding. Accepting the Orthodox faith is a prerequisite for Russian princes to consent to marriage, which can be found in many historical documents.

Children

According to the genealogians, the Ryazan boyar John Miroslavovich and Anastasia Ivanovna have only one son (according to D. I. Ilovaisk):

  1. Grigory Ivanovich Salkhomirov/Salakhmirov - Ryazan boyar. His Grand Duke Ivan Fedorovich of Ryazan calls him an uncle[6]. There are no direct historical data about Grigory Ivanovich's wife, but based on a historical document (1430-1440) "The granted given, preferential and unconvicted charter of Prince Fyodor Ivanovich of Pron to his uncle Grigory Ivanovich on land on the Kishna River near the Chizhevsky forest in the Pron principality", where Prince F. I. Pronsky also calls John Miroslavovich an uncle, it can be assumed that his wife is Princess Pronskaya.
