In 1942 the Germans took him and brought him as a workforce to Germany. When the war ended he found himself in Austria and started to come back to Ingria to find his family. His home and village had been destroyed, he found himself work in Pihkva oblast. He traveled trough Ukraine.
To his family he was lost for 14 years before they managed to reconnect. He was taken in 1942 and reunited with his family in 1955.
