André Scholtz

André Scholtz (1947 - 2023)

Brief overview:

André (76), a retired businessman who lived alone, was attacked and murdered by an unknown number of perpetrators at his smallholding in Christiana in the Free State on 31st March 2023. He had been beaten and then suffocated to death.

André was found by a family member on the morning of 1st April when they went to investigate after he could not be contacted. When the family member arrived she saw the front door was standing open.

A neighbour also arrived and when he went into the house he came across André's lifeless body. He had sustained a wound to his head and a rag was pushed into his mouth. The autopsy report later showed that he suffocated to death.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery and murder.

No arrests have been made.
