About Andres Bello Ycasiano

After Don Andres Icasiano graduated from the College of Medicine, Meritus from the University of Santo Tomas, he passed the Board of Medical Examiners as Physician and Surgeon given on February 15, 1902. He was appointed first Health Officer of Hagonoy, Bulacan (1902-1908) where he played an important role in the eradication of cholera epidemic. In 1908, his ailing father, Don/Kapitan Ramon Ycasiano requested to personally attend to him in Bulacan, Bulacan despite having two older sons who were also physicians.

Later, Don Andres returned to government service and was elected Councilor of Hagonoy.

In 1914, he bought a Hupmobile PU to transport passengers to Manila and back. In 1915, he added another Hupmobile of bigger capacity and a Dodge Brothers Car to augment his transportation line. Later, he named a GMC bus "Laura" and an International Harvester "Maura". The "Laura" line was sold later to his brother in Bulacan, Bulacan.

When "Maura" bus was fully depreciated, he changed it with a Chevrolet bus named "Hagonoy-Manila".

When he died on October 26, 1930, the transportation business was left to his widow, Maura Wytuaco vda de Icasiano, who herself was engaged in Dry Goods business at the Hagonoy shopping center. His funeral was attended by most of the municipality especially from the barrios who benefited from his free medical services. In 1938, his widow sold Hagonoy-Manila line to Pambusco since all her 8 daughters were still too young to run the business.
