THE DUNNS - lt is likely that James Dunn, who settled at Castle Bay and became the progenitor of the Dunns of that place, came to this parish when James Connell came.

When well advanced in years, he went with a team in winter to Sydney, and while returning home he died, probably of heart failure, at a certain brook at Sydney Forks which the old people used to call “Allt Sheumais Dhunn.” ("James Dunn's Burn")

He was married to Lucy, daughter of John McNeil (Donald) Benacadie West.

Issue:— John, Michael, Mary and Patrick.

John settled at Castle Bay, and married Mary, daughter of Malcolm McNeil (Big), Boisdale. Issue: — Neil, James, Dan, Mary, Lucy, Sarah, Ann, Katie, and Mary Sarah.
