About Ann B. Mason-Barber
Source: Find-a-Grave
Ann B. Henderson married Willis E. Mason about 1847.
They moved from Georgia to Sevier County, Arkansas and are found there in the 1850 US Census. The 1860 US Census shows them residing in Freedom, Polk County, Arkansas. [These same records suggest that Ann is the daughter of James Henderson (b. 1800 in Georgia) and his wife, Nancy (b. 1798-1800 in Georgia).]
Ann and Willis were the parents of William M., Martha, Thomas, Sarah J., James B. and Jefferson M. Mason.
Willis died as a prisoner of war in 1865.
About 1867, Ann married widower Elisha Barber. Her son Andrew Jackson Barber and daughter Rebecca Barber were born to this union.
Elisha passed away June 1, 1894 at Polk County, Arkansas. Ann applied for, and was granted, a widow's pension based on his military service in the Indian Wars. The file documents that the pension ended upon her death on 3 August 1899.
