Daughter of James Stephens Bulloch & Martha Stewart {widowed Mrs. Elliott}; born at Savannah, Georgia; moved as a child to "Bulloch Hall" in Roswell, Georgia; following her father's death, the family moved to Philadelphia to live with Anna's 1/2 sister, Mrs. Dr. West; moved in 1856 to New York City to live w/ sister Mrs Theodore Roosevelt, Sr.; married on 5 June 1866 to James King Gracie, a New York investment broker; she died at their country estate "Gracewood" at Oyster Bay, Queens {now Nassau} County, Long Island; President Theodore Roosevelt wrote of his aunt: "She and my mother used to entertain us by the hour with tales of life on the Georgia plantations."
