Annie Christine Harrell was born June 6, 1925, in Paris, Lamar County, Texas, daughter of Eugene Flowers Harrell and Maude (Fry) Harrell. She became known as "Christine". In 1942, she graduated from Paris High School. In 1946, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, Waco, TX.

Following her graduation, Christine worked as a church and legal secretary in Texas. She worked in Harlingen, Denton and Amarillo where she met Gene McGlasson, Jr. On Feb. 1, 1952, they were married. They had 2 children, Julie Ann McGlasson and Daniel "Dan" Eugene McGlasson, III. In May 1960, her husband, Gene, preceded her in death.

From 1955 to 1961, she attended West Texas State University, received her teacher certification and worked as a substitute teacher in the Canyon School District, Randall County, TX. She was a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Canyon, and was a member of the Sue Hite Study Club, High Plains Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum Auxiliary, and served on the Board of Randall County Unit of American Cancer Society and Coordinator of the Road to Recovery program.

During her life, Christine survived cancer two times. In July 2004, she moved to an independent living retirement community in Franklin, Tennessee, to be near her daughter. There she became a member of Woodmont Baptist Church. Her interests included reading, traveling, and playing bridge with friends, and during the last two years, playing with her granddaughter, Jada, was a great joy.

Christine's life centered around her family and her love of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

On Friday, May 13, 2011, Christine (Harrell) McGlasson, age 85, formerly of Canyon, Texas, died in Franklin, Tennessee. Arrangements were with Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Memorial services were held in Canyon, TX, at 11 a.m. on Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. David Lowrie Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church, El Paso, TX, presiding. Private burial was in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon, Randall County, Texas.

Christine Harrell McGlasson, 85, formerly of Canyon, Texas, died Friday, May 13, 2011, in Franklin, Tennessee.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Canyon, Texas, with Dr. David Lowrie Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church of El Paso, Texas, presiding. Private Burial was in Dreamland Cemetery. Arrangements were by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Christine Harrell McGlasson was born on June 6, 1925, in Paris, Texas, to Eugene and Maude Fry Harrell. She graduated from Paris High School in 1942, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 1946.

Following her graduation, Christine worked as a church secretary and legal secretary in Harlingen, Texas, Denton, Texas, and in Amarillo, Texas, where she met and married Gene McGlasson Jr. on Feb. 1, 1952. The family received friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorials to First Baptist Church of Canyon, 1717 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015; or a favorite charity.
