Anthony Shomo fought in the Revolutionary War, serving as an Ensign on the PA. Line.

Anthony married Elizabeth Rebecca OBOLD, daughter of Joseph OBOLD and Maria Elizabeth ALLWEIN. (Elizabeth Rebecca OBOLD was born June 26, 1767 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, died November 22, 1842 in New Market, Shenandoah Co. VA. and was buried in Saint Matthews Lutheran Church, New Market, Shenandoah, Virginia.)

Anthony was an officer in the Revolution War. He entered the Berks County Militia on May 25, 1778 and became a Lieutenant on May 27, 1780 with the 8th CO, 4th Battalion under Capt. Umpenhacker.

Anthony was educated in English and spoke German. His 66 acre estate was eventually sold but is still in use as a resident---logs and weatherboard construction, 200 years old.
