About Anton Joseph Welle
Anton J. Welle was born October 26, 1886 in Spring Hill, Stearns County, MN to Christoph & Elizabeth (Primus) Welle. He was the 9th of 10 children born to Christoph & Elizabeth.
On November 9, 1909 when Anton J. was 23, he married Apollonia K. Schoenberg - daughter of Martin & Katherine (Gerads) Schoenberg. Tone & Apollonia had 11 children:

Tone & Apollonia farmed briefly in St. Martin, MN and in 1912, they moved to a farm near Lastrup, MN. In 1919, with their six children, they moved to a farm 1 mile east of Spring Hill, MN. They remained on the farm until retiring to Melrose, MN around 1942.
Like his father Christoph Welle, Tone died of stomach cancer on February 21, 1953. He was 66 years old. He is buried Plot 8, Row 1 of Section A in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose, MN.
In addition to his wife, Apollonia, and his 10 children, he is survived by sisters & brothers: Henry Welle, Pierz, MN; Joe Welle, Meire Grove, MN; Conrad Welle, Colton, WA; and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fuchs, Clarkson, WA and George Welle, Lastrup, MN.
Tone was preceded in death by his parents, Christoph & Elizabeth Welle, infant daughter Marie, sisters and brothers: Anna Marie Welle, John J. Welle, Hubert S. Welle and Mary Welle Mehr.
