John Joseph Welle

John Welle was born to Christopher and Elizabeth (Primus) Welle on August 19, 1872 in Spring Hill, Stearns County, MN. John is the second of the 10 children of Christop & Lizzie Welle, - the oldest son.

In 1891 John left Minnesota and went to Uniontown, Washington to work with his uncle, Anton Primus. His brother Conrad Welle and sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Welle Fuchs would follow a few years later.

John Welle married Agnes Fuchs in St. Boniface Church in Uniontown on November 12, 1901. John and Agnes Welle had 10 children - 1 infant died.

John's sister, Lizzie Welle, married Frank Fuchs...the brother of Agnes Fuchs Welle. (brother & sister Welle married brother & sister Fuchs....fairly common during that time)

Agnes Fuchs Welle died October 1, 1921 at the age of 39. On July 4, 1922, John married a widow, Elizabeth (Becker) Brachtendorf, and 1 child was born of this union.

John died on February 3, 1952 at his home in Colton, WA at the age of 81 years. He is buried between his two wifes at St. Gall Catholic Cemetery in Colton, WA.
