About Atty. Alfred Lee Manierre
Alfred Lee Manierre (May 4, 1861 New York City - Oct. 1, 1911 NYC), Columbia College graduate, lawyer. His obit was in NYTimes on October 2, 1911.
Alfred graduated from Columbia University in 1888, and was an attorney, a member of the firm of Manierre & Manierre, with his brother Charles at offices at 31 Nassau Street, New York City.
He was a national figure in the Prohibition Party, and a manager of the National Temperance Society. Twice he ran [when?] unsuccessfully as his party’s nominee for the office of mayor of New York, and was considered a potential candidate for the party’s presidential ticket. He was N.Y. Prohibition candidate for Presidential Elector for New York, 1896; Prohibition candidate for Governor of New York, 1902; Prohibition candidate for New York state attorney general, 1908; Prohibition candidate for judge of New York Court of Appeals, 1910.
At the end of his life he lived at 330 West 76th Street, NY. He died on October 1, 1911, survived by his widow and three sons.
