·August Dombrowski Obituary · ·August Dombrowski, aged 81, a retired farmer, died Sunday night at 8:50 o’clock at the home of his son, Alex Dombrowski, in the town of Plover. His death came as the result of a long illness with rheumatism. He had been ill for seven years and confined in bed for five years.

Born in Boreck, Poland, on August 27, 1851, Mr. Dombrowski came to the United States 40 years ago and settled in the Plover territory, where he spent the rest of his life.

Surviving sons and daughters are Alex of Plover, Frank of Stevens Point, Albin and August of Menasha, Mrs. Ben Ropella of Crivitz, Steve Dombrowski, the Misses Mary and Julia Dombrowski and Mrs. Toefil Kropidlowski of Milwaukee. He also leaves two brothers, Martin of Hammond, Ind., and Ignatz of Faucher, and one sister in Poland.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Prais funeral home and burial will take place at DePines cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

The earliest record I have for August Dombrowski is the manifest for the ship Oder that states he was 30 in April of 1881 or DOB 1851. However his birthday was not until August where he would be 31 in August 1981so in April 1981 he was 30 and DOB in 1850. 2nd is the U.S., Indexed County Land Ownership Maps, 1860-1918 Record for August Dombrowski dated 1895 that did not list his age. 3nd is the US Census of 1900 that listed his DOB as Aug 1847 and his age at 53. 4rd is the Wisconsin Census of 1905 that listed his DOB at about 1855. 5th is the US Naturalization Papers that list his DOB as 27 Aug 1850. 6th & 7th is the US Census of 1910/1920 that listed his DOB at about 1850. 8th is the US Census of 1930 that listed his DOB at about 1852. 9th is the Obituary that listed his DOB as 27 Aug 1851. 10th is the Headstone that listed his DOB as 1852.
