About Avery Coon
GEDCOM Note
Most researchers have spelled his name "Avery" however in the Van Rensselaer papers in the NY State Archives, Albany, NY, his signature appears as "Avary" on a lease dated 10 Oct 1805 in which his father Jonathan leased 7 1/2 acres to Andrew Whipple. This is the last signature I have found for Jonathan who apparently died after this date and before 13 Mar 1806 when Luke Started administering his estate.
Avary must have also died, along with Jonathan, after 10 Oct 1805 and before 13 Mar 1806 since there is no mention of him when Luke was closing out Jonathan's estate
In the will of Abram Coon (5) dated 7 June 1812, Abram left money to Betsy, Nancy, Avery, and Daniel B. Coon, children of Avery Coon of Petersburg, NY, deceased.
