Bartholomew Allerton was the son of Isaac Allerton and Mary Norris, born around 1613. He traveled with his parents on Mayflower. As an adult, he returned to England and became a minister in Bramfield, Suffolk. His first wife was a woman named Margaret, and his second was Sarah Fairfax.

BARTHOLOMEW ALLERTON, b. say 1613; he returned to England, became minister at "Bamfield," Suffolk (probably Bramfield); m. (1) Margaret __ ; m. (2) Sarah Fairfax, dau. of Benjamin Fairfax; and had at least four children [MD 40:7-10].

Last Will & Testament

The will of a Bartholomew Allerton, clerk, of Bamfield (probably Bramfield), co. Suffolk, was dated 15 Oct 1658 and proved 19 Feb 1658/9.[1] In his will, he mentions his first wife Margaret; his second wife Sarah; and his children (without specifically naming them).[10] In Sarah's own will, she names her children Isaac, Mary, Dorothy and John, and mentions her brother John (who had the surname Fairfax).[11][12][2]
