About Benjamin Dabney

From http://www.dabney-early-virginia.info/getperson.php?personID=I545&t...

It is likely that Benjamin Dabney was born to Cornelius and Susanna Dabney ca 1682, but there is no direct evidence that he was their child. They are his most likely parents because there are no other documented Dabneys in Virginia early enough to have been his parents.
Benjamin is known from only two records. both of which are official and therefore reliable:1) he was listed in the 1704 Quit Rent Roll for King William County with 200 acres, 2) he was mentioned in a 1725 patent as an adjoiner of a tract in King William County. Since he was not mentioned in his likely mother Susannah’s will in 1722, he probably died before then, but could have been mentioned in the patent if his estate continued to exist for the support of his wife and children, who are unknown.
