About Benjamin Hubbard, I
Source Hubbard Genealogial Letter 1975 Issue 15 page 393
Charles Hubbard, John Hubbard son of Matthew Hubbard and Sibella Ham inherited a piece of land at Skimini and a tract of land about Charles Edmounds.
This is in York County Virginia:
- John Hubbard is listed in 1704 in New Kent county in Quit rent Roll as owner of 827 acres of land.
- New Kent was divided in 1691 to New Kent ,Kings and Queens counties . A Part of Kings and Queens was cutoff in 1701 to form King Williams County . Almost all the records have been lost.
We find John Hubbard Jr and Samuel Hubbard listed in register of St Peters parish and Charles and Benjamin listed in others.
From these records it appears John Hubbard cir 1653/4 married Elizabeth whose name is unknown. Issue
- 24 Charles Hubbard
- 25 John Hubbard
- 26 Samuel Hubbard and
- 27 Benjamin Hubbard
Since there is no other Hubbards listed early in New Kent , King William or King and Queen counties; we have to assume that John Hubbard and Elizabeth are the parents of the four Hubbards {Reference Volume VIII Historical Southern Families by Boddie published 1969/
