Bernard S. Renk, 89, Sauer Memorial Home, died at 1:45 a.m. today at the home. He had retired as a printer with Watkins Products, Inc. Prior to that he had been a printer with Jones and Kroeger several years.
The son of Michael and Frances Landmesser Renk, he was born in Schoenfeldt, Germany, Dec. 8, 1883, immigrating to the United States with his family in 1891. On May 17, 1905 he married Hedwig E. Schmidt at Winona. She died May 3, 1968. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and St. Joseph Society.
Survivors are: three sons, Bernard J., Minneapolis, Minn; Arthur J., Omaha, Neb., and Carl B., San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Crowley, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Bill (Eleanor) Wunder, Anamosa, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; triplet great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Edward (Rose) Vondrasek, Winona. One daughter, two brothers and three sisters have died.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Burke's Funeral Home, Winona, and at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, a grandson, the Rev. Louis Wunder, Waterloo, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home where Father Wunder will lead a wake service at 8.
