She had 2 sisters, LUCRETIA and NICOLA who had married ministers. By the time of her own marriage on 4 May 1647, her three brothers, JOHN, PATRICK, and ANDREW were dead. Her father noted on her marriage date to cousin Francis Guthrie that he was his "adopted son". BETHIA was to be his heiress and as her husband with the right surname, FRANCIS GUTHRIE, would assume the title as 12th of Guthrie.
BETHIA died about October of 1665, or between 1665-1666. Probate documents are dated 7 Feb 1666 and recorded at the Brechin Commissary Court.
Their son, JOHN GUTHRIE, inherited upon his father's death.
