Bets Olivier (1957 - 2022)

Brief overview:

Bets (65), wife of farmer Andrew (67), was found by a neighbour around 08h00 on the morning of 16th August 2022 at the couples farm in Olifantshoek in the Northern Cape.

According to the neighbour, it appears Bets was attacked outside by the washing line, and then found in a walk-in closet in the bathroom with her hands tied up behind her back under a piece of plastic.

Andrew was found injured in the field around 09h00. He was taken to LenMed Hospital in Kathu, where he was discharged the same day.

Police spokesperson, Capt. Sergio Kock said police are looking for two men and one woman in connection with the attack. The three perpetrators worked for the Olivier's.

Bets is survived by Andrew, her three children, six siblings, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
