About Betty Strømsted
Betty Strømsted, (Anna Strømsted's sister), lived in Tromsøysund after her father died. She lived on a farm named Olsborg (farm#64) and she is listed as a foster daughter in the 1900 census. The head of the household was Olaus Mikalsen, born 1863, farmer and fisherman. His wife, Martine Andreasdatter, also born in 1863, took care of the farm and their two children Artur Olausen (born 1897) and Marie Olausdatter (born 1898), and looked after Betty who was at this time only ten years old. They grew some kind of grain or potatoes on the land and had at least one cow. From the information given, it's difficult to figure not only exactly where they lived in Trmsøysund, but where exactly the boundaries were for Tromsøysund in relation to what they are today.
