Andrew Ring was the son of Eleazer and Mary Shaw Ring. His father Eleazer was the son of Andrew and Deborah Hopkins Ring. His mother Mary was the daughter of Jonathan and Phebe Watson Shaw. Andrew had at least ten brothers and sisters: Sameul, Eleazor, Phebe, Deborah, Mary, Jonathan, Susanna, Elkanah, Elizabeth, and Lydia.

Andrew married Zerviah Standish 20 May 1724. Zerviah was the daughter of Ebenezer and Hanna Sturtevant Standish and is a decendant of Myles Standish, an English military officer hired by the Pilgrims and a passenger on the Mayflower. Andres and Zerviah had at least eight children: Mary, Andrew, Susanna, Hanna, William, Sarah, Eleazor and Deborah. Andrew died at age 48.
