Edward Moseley was the son of Arthur Moseley, III and Martha Branch Cocke. Married Amey Green Apr. 6, 1746 in Lunenburg, VA. They had 9 known children. A Patriot of the American Revolution for Virginia with the rank of Captain [3], a vestryman in Cornwall Parish of Charlotte Co in 1765 [4] and a Justice of the Peace 1 Apr 1765 [5] They recommended him as Captain of Militia on 4 Sept 1778. [6] Capt. Moseley was ordered to the service of the southern states on 24 Dec 1781 and was paid for his services. [7]

Amey Clay Green, wife of Edward Moseley, was b 29 Feb 1728 and died 1 Dec 1800. In Lunenburg Co VA, 1761, Edward Moseley states in first deed he came from Chesterfield (Book VI p 367). In the will of his father, Arthur III, left son Edward 400 acres on Fighting Creek (Henrico Co at that time, later absorbed into Chesterfield). [8]

“Edward (and Amey) named a daughter Martha and a son Arthur. Several of grandchildren were named Cocke.” [9-13] Edward Moseley died in Charlotte Co In his will, recorded 3 Oct 1808. [14] he mention sons, Edward, Hillary, and William (“calves stock and every I have heretofore put him in possession’); daus Mary Goode, Rebecca Moseley Johnston, Martha Bouldin; Amey Collier; Elizabeth Bouldin; Letty Herndon; and Salley Patrick. Also children of son Arthur (decd): Elizabeth Brooks, William, Salley and Susannah Moseley. Executors: Hillary Moseley, Edward Moseley and Mack Good. Dated 5 May 1808; offered for probate 3 Oct 1808, contested by Richard Bouldin, and finally admitted as his will Jan 1809.
