About Capt. Henry Buford
Henry Beauford/Buford built a large home in Bedford County, VA, called "Buford's Tavern" before the revolution. He was the presiding Magistrate of Bedford County in 1782, and acted as the High Sheriff from 1790 to 1795.

6. HENRY, son of John and Judith Beauford, was born in Culpeper County, Virginia, married, March 22, 1771, Mildred Blackburn, of Bedford County, Virginia.

Mildred Buford died Easter Monday, April 19, 1802. Henry Buford married, October 17, 1805, Jane Kent Quirk, widow of Major Thomas Quirk, of the Revolution.
Henry Buford died at “Locust Level," Bedford County, Virginia, December 31, 1814. He was allowed as captain, under date of November 6, 1777, for pay, rations, etc., for his company, Bedford County, £388 IIS. Id., “Archives of the Virginia State Militia, December 23, 1776, to December 18, 1778." He was one of the presiding magistrates of Bedford County in 1782, and high sheriff from 1790 to 1795.
