John Key, son of Moses, Jr., was born about 1735. He served in the Revolutionary War as Captain from Washington Co., N.C. After the War he, with his son David, and perhaps other children, moved to what is now Green County, Tenn. He bought one hundred acres of land on Lick Creek, Nov. 12, 1794, also acquired land with his son David. Family records show that John Key had another son named Peter. John Key died aobut 1795.
David, son of John Key, married Elizabeth Williams, daughter of Benjamin Williams, a Revolutionary soldier, who died in Green Co., Tenn. David and Elizabeth Key had issue, John, b. Jan. 18, 1798, at Carter's Station, Green Co., Tenn., died at Hiwassee, Monroe Co., Tenn., Feb. 10, 1854. The name of the other children, if any, are unknown to the compiler.
