About Capt. Stephen Bullock

U.S. Congressman. He was school teacher and during the Revolutionary War, was Captain of the 6th Company, Massachusetts Regiment, which was in the Battle of Rhode Island in 1778. After the war, he was a delegate to the first Massachusetts State constitutional convention in 1780 and a member of the Massachusetts State House of Representatives, (1783, 85-86, 95-96). In 1797, he was elected as a Federalist to the Fifth Congress, serving until 1799. After his term, he was judge of the court of common pleas for Bristol County and a member of the Governor’s council, (1803-05).
