Inscription: Sacred to the Memory of Capt. Thomas Ellerbe Who departed this life Sept. 16th, 1802 aged 59 years. He was a man of intrinsic worth. And whose urbanity of manners and uniform rectitude throughout life secured to him the esteem of all who knew him. This stone is erected by his daughter Rebecca McFarlane As a small mark of deep respect which she shall entertain for the memory of her departed father.
